The oil-on-canvas artworks of Serbian artist Ivan Milenkovic shed light on one of the most relevant social issues of our time: digitalization. The role of digital devices in our lives and the relationship between technology and humanity can be considered the main focus of his work.
Dark colors dominate the canvas, but are illuminated and sharply contrasted by the artificial light of digital devices and the human figures using them. Sometimes the entire body is depicted, other times only a part of it, particularly the hands. Artificial light seems to be the only element that exists in Milenkovic's visual world, and the strength of his art, besides its stylistic perfection, lies in its ability to bring a new, contemporary reality to the canvas.
